TESTS OF BASIC SKILLS® (ITBS®) (GRADES K-8) Form A

Testing Schedule
Cost: $40
This test is designed to evaluate critical
thinking skills, measure academic growth, and to provide a comprehensive assessment of student
progress in the basic skills. Your report will provide you with an
in-depth assessment of your student's achievement of important
educational objectives. Grades 3-8 may be tested together. Tests are
given orally through grade 2.
One advantage of
using the ITBS®
is that it also evaluates Science, Social Studies, and Sources of
Information. These tests are optional, but the cost is the same.
Subjects tested include: Vocabulary, Word
Analysis, Reading, Listening, Language, Spelling, Math Concepts, Math
Problem Solving,
Math Computation, Social Studies, Science, and Sources of Information.
(Social Studies, Science, and Sources of Information are not required by
the state of NC and are optional)
The ITBS®
test can be used in
conjunction with the CogAT®, and your report will compare the results of
the two tests. This combination of testing is helpful in
identifying under or over achievers as well as your student's preferred
learning style.
